Toyota Succeed price in Kenya, and what TX G Package means

5 min read · Updated November 2026

In late 2026, most Toyota Succeeds for sale in Kenya were asking between about KES 1 million and KES 2 million, with 2014 to 2016 cars at the lower end and 2018 to 2019 cars and hybrids at the top. The TX G Package is a better-equipped version of the TX grade. Check the auction sheet or export certificate to confirm what a particular car has.

What the Toyota Succeed is

The Succeed is a small Toyota wagon built for business use, and the better-equipped twin of the Toyota Probox. It is popular in Kenya for deliveries, field work and ride-hailing because it is cheap to run, easy to repair and carries a lot for its size.

Most Succeeds in Kenya are the 1.5-litre petrol model sold in Japan from 2014 (code NCP160V, or NCP165V with four-wheel drive). A hybrid version (NHP160V) arrived in 2018. Toyota stopped using the Succeed name in May 2020 and kept selling the same car as the Probox.

What TX G Package means

The TX is the better-equipped Succeed grade. A G Package adds extras on top of the TX, such as privacy glass, power-folding mirrors and colour-matched trim, depending on the year. Sellers in Kenya often write it as "TXG" or "TXG package".

Grades and option lists changed over the years, so do not pay extra for a name alone. Ask for the Japanese auction sheet or export certificate, which lists the exact grade and equipment.

Prices by model year

These are rough asking prices from Kenyan dealer sites and listings in November 2026. A locally used car usually costs less than a freshly imported one of the same year.

  • 2014 to 2016: about KES 1 million to 1.45 million.
  • 2017 to 2019: about KES 1.05 million to 2 million. A locally used 2018 TXG Package was listed on gari_me at KES 1,050,000.
  • Hybrid: usually at the top of its year’s range. One 2018 hybrid with about 112,500 km was listed at KES 1,470,000.

What moves the price

  • Mileage. Many Succeeds worked hard as business cars, so very low mileage is worth checking against the service history.
  • Foreign used or locally used. A fresh import usually costs more than one already driven here.
  • Grade and drive. A TX G Package or a 4WD car asks a little more than a basic grade.
  • Condition of the body, seats and load area, which show how hard the car was used.

What to check before you buy

  • Search the registration on the NTSA portal to confirm the owner and any caveats.
  • Look for rust and damage in the load area and under the car.
  • Listen for knocks from the rear suspension, which takes heavy loads.
  • On a hybrid, ask for a hybrid battery health check from a qualified mechanic.
  • Check that the gearbox shifts smoothly and the engine does not smoke at start-up.

Common questions

How much is a Toyota Succeed TXG Package in Kenya?
A 2017 to 2019 Succeed TXG Package usually asks between about KES 1 million and KES 2 million, depending on mileage, condition and whether it is a fresh import. Check current listings and the car prices page for today’s figures.
Is the Toyota Succeed the same as the Probox?
They are twins built on the same body. The Succeed was the better-equipped version. Since May 2020 Toyota sells only the Probox name.
Is the Succeed good for Uber or deliveries?
Many owners use it for both because fuel, parts and repairs are cheap. Check the ride-hailing company’s current age and model rules before you buy for that purpose.
